Fullerton Room
From South Georgia Museum
Named after the Commissioner for South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, who supported and sanctioned the establishment of the museum, this room is devoted to the history of exploration and science on the island. Displays cover Sir Ernest Shackleton's amazing and successful effort to effect the rescue of his men stranded on Elephant Island, the Discovery scientific investigations into the marine environment around the island, and the South Georgia Surveys of the 1950s.
