About this objectSample of whale oil in a glass jar. Cork bung with wax on top and cardboard tag tied to bottle with string. The oil has separated and there is sediment at the bottom. The tag has been typed. Tag has been signed by the 1st mate and the chemist from the station. Taken from the transport ship "Orwell" at Husvik in April 1953. The labels indicate the amount of free fatty acid.
